There’s been a GREAT start to the Great British Spring Clean already! Most people didn’t even realise that it was part of Barlaston but Renee, David, Gill, Ali, Michala, Andrew B, John, Pam, Sally, Andrew M, Maggie, Mark & Stan rose to the Cocknage Challenge & tackled some seriously neglected Grot Spots! December was a busy month in Barlaston, not just the normal busy-ness of getting ready for Christmas but with all our activities & events too! There was the first of our Coach Trips, this one to Liverpool at the beginning of the month which was a great success. Jenny Donovan took the lead in rustling up the numbers and spreading the word and there was a party atmosphere on the coach with some Christmas nibbles, mulled wine & sherry which helped lubricate our throats for singing the ...Read Full Post »

Of course the highlight of the month was the amazing gathering around the cenotaph at this year’s Remembrance Service led by Vicar Stewart Jones. Around 400 people attended & Barlaston’s Yarn Bomber had erected a display using poppies knitted by residents over the past couple of months which received so many Likes it nearly broke the internet!
